FAQs
What does The Shuttercraft 10-Year Warranty cover?
The Shuttercraft 10-Year Warranty begins when your new shutters are delivered to your home.
- All products are free from any material defects.
- Your shutters are fit for the purpose they have been bought for, and,
- The installation service we provide is carried out with skill and care
If you have any issues with the build quality, operation, or fitting during the coming 10-year period, we’ll do everything we can to put it right.
What do we ask from you?
To provide such a robust warranty, we ask Shuttercraft customers to help us make sure our products are working precisely as intended.
Therefore:
- We’ll need to know as soon as is practical if there are any defects
- We ask that our products are only used where recommended
- We’ll ask that you don’t try to make alterations or repairs that we do not authorise
For instance, we’ll ask you to ensure that non-waterproof shutters aren’t exposed to high moisture levels or direct water contact – such as rain.
Don’t worry, though; our expert design team will always guide you to ensure the right products are being fitted according to your requirements – and we’re just a phone call away if you need any advice or answers to questions.
Exceptions
Are there any exceptions to our 10-year warranty coverage?
There are a small number of exceptions to The Shuttercraft 10-Year Warranty – but don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re aware of these before you order, so you always have all the information you need to make sure you’re choosing the right products for your home.
Colour fastness
The colour fastness of your shutters is covered for three years after delivery.
Remote control mechanisms
Like most premium electrical items, the warranty on your remote-control mechanism is one year. Don’t worry, though – in the rare instance of a problem with the remote control. Your shutters will operate perfectly by hand.
Shutter hardware
The stainless-steel shutter hardware our installation team uses – such as screws and additional brackets required – is covered for material defects in design and workmanship for three years after delivery.
Portchester security shutters
Our range of security shutters is covered by our warranty for five years when fitted inside a property – or three years when fitted externally.
As you can see, even where our standard 10-year warranty doesn’t apply – we still do everything possible to exceed our customers’ expectations and improve on what other shutter companies offer.
How to make a claim
If you need to discuss your warranty, report an issue, or make a claim. You can call either your local Shuttercraft expert or our Shuttercraft central office. When you do, we’ll explain exactly what the next steps will be.
There’s a £75 call-out charge when a Shuttercraft technician visits your home – but don’t worry; this is fully refundable as long as the repair or replacement is confirmed as being covered by your extensive warranty.
FAQs
What makes us so confident about our shutters?
Every shutter we design and fit is manufactured in state-of-the-art production facilities using exceptional raw materials.
So, we can be confident that all the parts that come together to create your shutters are of the highest quality.
It’s not just the materials and processes we use that inspire confidence, though. Before they arrive at your home, the team puts all shutters, frames, and battens through a rigorous 18-point quality control checking system.
When checked and signed off, they are photographed with high-resolution digital equipment before being carefully packaged.
When your shutters arrive in the UK, the packages are inspected and photographed again to ensure no signs of damage.
What happens if you need to make a warranty claim?
A considerable amount of Shuttercraft’s business comes from word-of-mouth recommendations. While our beautiful products account for a lot of this – an equal amount comes because we take customer service and after-sales support seriously.
As such, you’ll have no problem contacting us if you need to discuss your warranty, report an issue, or make a claim.

Shuttercraft warranties vs consumer rights
We’re highly confident about the quality of the services and products that you’ll receive when you shop with Shuttercraft.
The Shuttercraft 10-Year Warranty is significantly more generous than the legal rights you have under standard Consumer Contracts Regulations.
This doesn’t mean our warranty overrides your rights as a customer – simply that you’ve got peace of mind, knowing that you’ll hopefully never have fall-back on statutory rights.
