What does The Shuttercraft 10-Year Warranty cover?

We strive to provide the very best service that we can to our customers and The Shuttercraft 10 Year Warranty is designed to provide customers purchasing our shutters with peace of mind.

All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that shutter products will correspond with the specification set out in our written quotation and, for a period of 10 years from date of delivery will be:

  • Free from material defects in design and material;
  • Fit for purpose for which they are commonly bought and for the purpose for which they have been designed for; and
  • Our services will be performed with reasonable skill and care

If you have any issues with the build quality, operation, or fitting during the coming 10-year period, we’ll do everything we can to put it right.

What do we ask from you?

To provide such a robust warranty, we ask Shuttercraft customers to help us make sure our products are working precisely as intended.

Therefore:

  • We’ll need to know as soon as is practical if there are any defects
  • We ask that our products are only used where recommended
  • We’ll ask that you don’t try to make alterations or repairs that we do not authorise
  • Stainless steel hardware will be free from material defects in design and workmanship on delivery and for a period of 3 years thereafter

For instance, we’ll ask you to ensure that non-waterproof shutters aren’t exposed to high moisture levels or direct water contact – such as rain.

Don’t worry, though; our expert design team will always guide you to ensure the right products are being fitted according to your requirements – and we’re just a phone call away if you need any advice or answers to questions.

We are not therefore able to guarantee exact matches to samples, nor are we able to guarantee exact matches on subsequent orders.

Minor blemishes where the grain or substrate is only visible at a distance of less than 2m will be regarded as natural variations in the grain or substrate and will not be accepted as a defect.

Minor colour imperfections not readily apparent at a distance of 1m under ordinary light will not be accepted as a defect.

In addition we will have no liability to you if:

  • You fail to notify us about a defect as soon as practical
  • You fail to follow our instructions or recommendations as to the use of the products. For example: Shutters fitted in bathrooms, kitchens or other rooms, which are subject to high moisture levels, or direct water contact, are not guaranteed unless it is our Java waterproof product. This exclusion includes rain damage.
  • You make use of the products in abnormal or unfavourable conditions or make attempts to make any alterations or repairs not authorised by us.

FAQs

What makes us so confident about our shutters?

Every shutter we design and fit is manufactured in state-of-the-art production facilities using exceptional raw materials.

So, we can be confident that all the parts that come together to create your shutters are of the highest quality.

It’s not just the materials and processes we use that inspire confidence, though. Before they arrive at your home, the team puts all shutters, frames, and battens through a rigorous 18-point quality control checking system.

When checked and signed off, they are photographed with high-resolution digital equipment before being carefully packaged.

When your shutters arrive in the UK, the packages are inspected and photographed again to ensure no signs of damage.

What happens if you need to make a warranty claim?

A considerable amount of Shuttercraft’s business comes from word-of-mouth recommendations. While our beautiful products account for a lot of this – an equal amount comes because we take customer service and after-sales support seriously.

As such, you’ll have no problem contacting us if you need to discuss your warranty, report an issue, or make a claim.

Shuttercraft warranties vs consumer rights

We’re highly confident about the quality of the services and products that you’ll receive when you shop with Shuttercraft.

The Shuttercraft 10-Year Warranty is significantly more generous than the legal rights you have under standard Consumer Contracts Regulations.

This doesn’t mean our warranty overrides your rights as a customer – simply that you’ve got peace of mind, knowing that you’ll hopefully never have fall-back on statutory rights.
