The husband and wife team, Liz and Martyn Evans, are very excited to announce their exciting new business, Shuttercraft in Hastings. On the 4th of September, they will be opening the doors of their new shop and fitting business, Shuttercraft, offering a range of stunning shutters and beautiful blinds to the people of Hastings and the surrounding area!
Combined, the pair has the perfect skill set to build a successful business. With Liz having a career background in the corporate world with a variety of customer-facing roles, and Martyn having 14 years of experience in shutters and blinds, they are set to take the South East by storm!
Running a new local business

Liz’s focus is primarily customer care – making sure that the shutters and blinds fit perfectly with the customer’s house and taste in design. While Martyn is the craftsman, conducting surveys and ensuring a beautiful finish on all installations. The husband-and-wife team is excited to experience the growth of the business and build their status in their local area.

Becoming part of a Shuttercraft franchise, Liz and Martyn are supported by a trusted national brand. Their product range includes many different styles and colours bespoke to meet all tastes and styles of décor.
There are also bespoke blinds available, some of which are exclusive to Shuttercraft. A self-employed lifestyle suited Evans perfectly. Liz says, “We like the freedom of running our own business while being able to have the support and guidance we get from a franchise.”
The couple has invested in their local presence with a showroom in Bexhill-on-sea. As well as being a location to showcase Shuttercraft’s range of plantation shutters and window blinds, the showroom will work as an office and a sales space to interact with customers.
