Ashton Road BRISTOL Avon BS3 2EJ

In the heart of Bristol, Ashton Gate Stadium is the home of Bristol City F.C. and the Bristol Bears. Currently, the stadium seats 27,989 at full capacity and hosts a number of different events including football, rugby, music and conventions, making it the perfect place to add to your must-see list when visiting Bristol!

The Stadium hasn’t always had such a large capacity, or hosted so many events, as until 2013 the stadium was much smaller in size. In 2013, plans for the redevelopment of the stadium were approved, and work started in May 2014.

The work that was carried out saw the demolition of the previous stands, an extension to one of the remaining stands, the shifting of the pitch to allow for the extension and a new pitch designed to be shared between the football and rugby clubs.

After the re-development, which was completed in 2016, the stadium gained new stands and more capacity, completing the four stands which are currently used named Lansdown, Dolman, Atyeo and South Stand. This made it more suitable to the audience size that the events attract.

As well as being a well known and loved sports venue, there are a range of different events hosted at Ashton Gate Stadium. You can find events such as cocktail masterclasses, Christmas parties and the Bristol Tattoo Convention here, and you can even hire the space for private parties and weddings!

Ashton Gate Stadium is also becoming more widely known for hosting music events, such as the Spice Girls Spice World Tour and the likes of Rod Stewart, Take That and Muse. With such big names and events throughout the year, Ashton Gate Stadium is attracting visitors, not just from all over the country, but all over the world!
