Located on Brodrick Road in the heart of the Hampden Park area of Eastbourne, from gym and fitness to floodlit courts and 3G pitches, Hampden Park Sports Centre provides fantastic multi-purpose facilities to the town’s residents throughout the year. Offering both indoor and outdoor sports, the sports centre can always be found in use, whatever the weather!

Named after the area of Hampden Park, rather than the actual parkland, the sports centre is a custom-built facility that includes an Artificial Grass Pitch, well-stocked Health and Fitness Gym, Outdoor Tennis Courts, Sports Hall, Squash Courts and a Studio that is used for exercise classes such as Zumba and Yoga.

Hampden Park Sports Centre is part of the Sport Eastbourne group that also includes Eastbourne Sports Park, Cavendish Sports Centre and Shinewater Sports Centre. Regency Park Community Centre and Sovereign Harbour Community Centre are also part of the sports facility provided for the town but offer significantly fewer options when it comes to sports on offer.

The gym contains treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, rowing machines, cable cross machine, heavy weights, abdominal stretch, a great range of free weights as well as a dedicated area for leg work.

Court Bookings need to be made for members and non-members alike, as many of Eastbourne’s residents tap into the things on offer at Hampden Park, including Squash, Indoor 5v5 Football, Outdoor 3G pitch, Tennis, Basketball, and Table Tennis. The easiest way to book is either to visit in person or over the phone, however, the Sport Eastbourne website also includes a basic web form that can also be used to communicate with the centre’s booking team.

Sport Eastbourne does not include the provision of any sort of swimming pool, so Eastbourne residents who fancy doing some lengths must visit either the Sovereign Centre or the Motcombe Pool. The Blue Lagoon Warm Water Centre is also nearby and offers hydrotherapy temperature water and two pools that are mainly used for rehabilitative reasons as well as swimming lessons. See more here

Of course, for more adventurous swimmers, Eastbourne beach is around 3.5 miles away, though the sea’s currents in this area are obviously significantly stronger than a swimming pool. The Sports Centre is located next to the Lindfield School and Eastbourne Academy. A small car park is on-site but can get very busy, so people are also encouraged to park on Brodrick Road itself.
