The Green Flag Award-winning Hartsholme Country Park is situated to the south-west of Lincoln, roughly 3 miles from the city centre.
Hartsholme consists of a children’s play area, a café, a Visitor Centre, camping facilities, Victorian landscaped gardens, and access to parts of Swanholme Lakes Local Nature Reserve. For the more actively minded visitor, there are also possibilities for things such as the orienteering course, guided walks and nature trails.
Open all year round, the park is dog friendly, and also offers camping facilities from March to October in the onsite touring park, which has a 3-star rating from the English Tourism Council.
Just three miles from the centre of Lincoln lies an unlikely oasis that is home to a diverse selection of plant and animal life and has done so since becoming a protected area in 1974. Featuring a combination of beautiful natural and manmade features, Hartsholme Country Park is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Located on the outskirts of the beautiful city of Lincoln means that the park offers a scenic and tranquil place to explore both for visitors and residents alike. Hartsholme is accessible via road, bus, cycle, or even train, though the nearest station (in Hykeham) is around a 30-minute walk from the park’s main hub. Onsite parking is available, and there is also a café, with changing seasonal opening hours, to enjoy some light refreshments.
The park hosts regular events throughout the year, including frequent bird watching events that are free to attend, as well as children’s craft sessions during the school summer holidays.
Hartsholme Country Park boasts a lovely walk around the lakeside, with easy access paths across all areas and a variety of benches scattered throughout to sit and take in the beautiful scenery. An abundance of wildlife lives in the park, as well as a huge array of trees.
Covering more than 200 acres, Hartsholme Country Park is a stunning open space that has been enjoyed by residents, visitors, and especially dog walkers, for almost 50 years. Visitors can enjoy socially distant walks and cycle rides through the lakes and ornamental grounds and lots of wildlife watching. Hartsholme Country Park is also a fantastic place for a Lincoln MicroBreak for those of a more outdoors disposition. With scenic walks around the reservoir and wooded trails, a children’s play area and picnic spots – there’s plenty of nature to soak up in a fun and striking setting. Due to the lakeside setting, there are angling pitches available for use.
