Internal wooden window shutters provide Bearsden residents with many benefits in addition to light control, as they are designed to also increase the kerb appeal of any property and add privacy. Due to their louvred structure, they can also help your home with ventilation, making them an excellent choice for built-in wardrobes and room dividers.

Plantation shutters and blinds are growing in popularity for all types of properties found in Bearsden, regardless of age or style. The reason is simple: the stylish lines and the sheer beauty, coupled with their practical benefits. Additional insulation against heat loss, total control over incoming light and also added privacy.

Some of the older properties in the area suit our tier-on-tier and full height shutters, while modern homeowners tend to opt for our track or café style interior shutters. About Bearsden

Effectively a suburb of Glasgow, Bearsden is in essence still very much its own separate entity, with its own high street, train stations, golf courses, and a range of other local facilities.

Bearsden has been settled since at least the Roman occupation, when a fort in the 2nd century AD was based on the Antonine Wall. Remains of a military bath house from this time can still be seen near Bearsden town centre.

One of the important archaeological discoveries to come out of Bearsden is the Bearsden Shark, a 330-million-year-old fossil found in the Manse Burn stream in 1981. An example of the species Akmonistion zangerli, the Bearsden shark is the only complete fossil of its kind in the world.

Bearsden is home to some of the best schools in the wider Glasgow area, with renowned musicians Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), Edwyn Collins (Orange Juice), and even Darius (Pop Idol) all receiving education in Bearsden. Both Bearsden and Boclair Academy have academic performance regularly rated as “well above average”, with eight local primary schools covering the various neighbourhoods in the area.

Whatever the shape or size of your window or interior space, you can find a window shutter that is right for you. Book a free survey and discover a local, helpful service in the local area.
