Discover stylish internal shutters in Mansewood

At Shuttercraft, we offer a wide range of high quality products with sustainably sourced materials to all Mansewood residents, from hardwood to MDF or waterproof ABS. Our shutters cover every style, with custom made products in a broad selection of colours, styles and sizes.

As they are a semi-permanent addition to any home, shutters can increase the value of a property, as well as lead to more kerb appeal, helping make you the envy of your neighbours. Bay windows are notoriously difficult to dress and look stunning both inside and out with café style or tier-on-tier shutters.

As a result of the extra insulation they add to windows, shutters also provide a degree of protection against heat loss, helping your home stay warmer and even reducing bills. That makes them a versatile and energy efficient choice, as well as an aesthetic one, that can transform your home in more than just its style.

There is a whole range of colour choices to consider, so you can be assured of a design that will enhance your interiors and add kerb appeal to your home. We offer specialist design advice at our free home appointments, coupled with a good selection of samples and detailed, obligation free surveys, helping you make informed decisions about the right solutions for your space.

If you’re thinking of giving your local home a new lease of life, why not contact Shuttercraft Glasgow today and discover how stylish window shutters could transform your interior designs.

About Mansewood

Located between the main roads of the M77 motorway and the Kilmarnock Road, the residential area of Mansewood is situated on the site of Auldhouse Burn, a small stream that eventually makes its way to White Cart Water and eventually on to the River Clyde.

Mansewood was originally land owned by the Church, specifically the nearby Eastwood Parish Church, a building that exists to this day. The name of the area itself is derived from the word ‘Manse’ (the minister’s home) and ‘Wood’ referring to the trees which grew in the area, some of which are still growing.

During the Victorian era, and really until the expansion of the city led to Mansewood being developed, there was a farm known as Henryscroft Farm on the site of what is now the junction of Mansewood Road and Burnfield Road. Some older residents may still remember the farmer driving his cows through the area morning and evening, as well as seeing the farmer ploughing his fields by the traditional horse-drawn method.

As its name suggested, the Eastwood Old Cemetery is one of the older places of burial in the Glasgow area, and can be found just off of the Thornliebank Road in the heart of the Mansewood area. As well as a number of late Georgian and Victorian headstones, there are also a number of burials dating from the First World War, as the final resting place of local soldiers who died in the conflict.
