Not only do interior shutters meet everyday needs regarding privacy issues and light control, but such specialist window treatments also give a degree of thermal insulation, helping keep your home warmer during cooler winter months.

When catering for larger expanses and openings, we can provide track shutters with either bi-fold or by-pass systems, helping provide light control for big windows or act as room dividers in open-plan homes. Both approaches can also help make a home more energy efficient, saving you money in style.

Shutters will work beautifully with a period property or a more modern home. We’re known for producing excellent results from flats and terraces to large detached properties.

Whether you live in How Wood or anywhere in Hertfordshire, there will be a shutter to suit your home and style. Contact us at Shuttercraft and book your free home appointment today.

We work with you to ensure the choice of interior window shutters for your home is yours alone, not influenced by a high-pressure sales person.

About How Wood

The How Wood residential village is roughly halfway between St Albans and the northern side of Watford. Easily accessible via Junction 21 of the M25 London Orbital, How Wood, like many other settlements in the area, is primarily used for dormitory reasons. Many residents choose to commute from the village to nearby towns.

How Wood is likely named after the actual woodland where the village is based. Now much smaller due to development in the area, How Wood is managed by the Woodland Trust, the conservation trust that also oversees nearby Moor Mill, a Site of Special Scientific Interest developed on an abandoned quarry.

The unmanned railway station at How Wood is on the Abbey Line, between the cathedral city and the much larger town. The station opened in 1988 to coincide with the line’s electrification and currently has services running through every 45 minutes.

Although much of the housing in How Wood dates from the latter half of the 20th century, a few listed properties are scattered throughout the village that are reminders of the area’s agricultural past, including Burston Manor, which includes some features dating back to the 12th century.

If you are considering a bold new style for your home but aren’t sure which window treatments to pick, simply call us at your local Shuttercraft today.
