About Christleton
The village of Christleton, located just to the south west of Chester, regularly claims to be one of the prettiest villages in the country. The historic waterway of the Shropshire Union Canal runs through the centre of the village, with beautiful weeping willows at the water’s edge completing the look of the quintessential British countryside retreat.

With a history dating back to at least the time of the Domesday Book, when ‘Christetone’ comprised just 23 households, the village has at least two large mansions in its environs. The 17th century Christleton Old Hall is a former rectory that was designated with a Grade II listing in 1952, and the newer Christleton Hall was constructed in the mid-18th century that has been a boarding school and college campus at different points in its life.
