Discover stylish internal shutters in Tickhill

Whether you are thinking about updating your home or business property in the Tickhill area, a new window treatment will often breathe some life into the designs by enhancing the interiors with choices such as tier-on-tier wooden shutters.

Shutters provide additional benefits beyond both light control and privacy. They are incredibly easy to clean and maintain and help insulate your home when the louvres are closed. That makes them an energy-efficient choice, keeping warmth inside your home during winter and reducing heat levels from the sun during the summer.

Window designs vary greatly in the local area due to a rich agricultural past, as well as the shock of industrialisation and other developments, so the flexibility of individually crafted solutions, such as those provided by shutters, is of great importance. Choices in style, size, material and colour can all be factored into your decision-making, as well as a host of optional extras such as motorisation and home automation.

Making them a practical choice year-round, the shutters we supply can also come with an in-built honeycomb blind. This Shutter and Shade solution is a fantastic choice for those who need to sleep during the day, such as toddlers and night workers.

About Tickhill

Nestled in the Yorkshire countryside, just south of Doncaster and next to the A1(M), the modern road is based on the route of the ancient Great North Road. There are several waterways in the Tickhill area, influenced by the path of the River Torne, a relatively small river that grows and eventually widens to join with the River Trent just west of Scunthorpe.

The remains of Tickhill Castle are still visible to this day, retaining some of the original Norman walls, with a 17th-century country house being built on the site of the old gatehouse. As it was intentionally ruined following the English Civil War, Tickhill was converted into a sumptuous family home that included “beautiful ruins” as a design feature. The leasehold was listed in 2022 with a price of £2 million.

Controversial television presenter Jeremy Clarkson, best known as the face of Top Gear for over 20 years, grew up in a luxury home in Tickhill as the son of a teacher and travelling salesman who designed the first Paddington Bear toys. Rowland Bridge House is a six-bedroom 17th-century home with views over the town pond. It was valued in 2016 as being worth over £1 million.

Francis Fletcher, the Church of England vicar who accompanied Sir Francis Drake around the world, found a much less adventurous life a few years after their voyage when he became the vicar of St Mary’s Church, Tickhill. Despite its origins dating back to the 12th century, Tickhill’s parish church is still a place of worship.
