Adding a layer of privacy while allowing light to enter your space, shutters also provide additional insulation when closed, making them a beautiful, versatile and practical solution. Combined with an optional integrated honeycomb blind, our shutters are one of the most energy-efficient window coverings.

As we work with you closely to determine your design choices, you can be assured of a perfect fit, fantastic style and quality that will last for years. For homes with uniquely shaped windows or bays, shutters also cater to your needs where choices such as blinds and curtains may not.

As they are a semi-permanent addition to any home, shutters can increase the property’s value and lead to more kerb appeal, helping make you envy your neighbours. About Worsbrough

Largely now considered to be a part of Barnsley, the area of Worsbrough was still officially classed as a separate settlement as recently as the 2011 Census and is based on the route of the River Dove, which has been dammed at the Worsbrough Reservoir to provide water for the local area.

Houndhill is a substantial Tudor-era farmhouse on Hound Hill Lane, owned by the same family for at least 20 generations. With an original brick-built tower viewable from the road, the historic property played a very brief part in the English Civil War and is easily overcome by Sir Thomas Fairfax in 1643.

Just outside of Worsbrough is the small hamlet of Stainborough and the former 18th-century estate of Wentworth Castle. Born out of family rivalries, the extensive grounds of Wentworth Castle were redeveloped in the 1730s and included a mock ruin intended to show the Wentworths had owned the land for much longer. The gardens are now managed by the National Trust and open to the public, with the manor house being run as a residential college for adults.

Famed trade unionist Arthur Scargill, best known as leading the UK miner’s strike, was born and raised in Worsbrough, attending school in the area before starting work in the Woolley Colliery, north of Barnsley, where his passion for leftist politics and worker’s rights came to the fore.

Whether you live in Worsbrough itself or anywhere in the wider Barnsley vicinity, there will be a shutter style to suit your design ideas. Get in touch with us at Shuttercraft and book your free home appointment today.
