Stylish interior window shutters can help increase the re-sale value of your property. When viewed from outside, they really look fantastic and make a confident design statement. As they are included as a permanent addition to any home, they will be a desirable feature to encourage potential buyers in any house sale.

The prevalence of Victorian era properties in Kelvinside means that there are a large number of homes that feature bay windows. These home features are beautiful, and are ideal for the addition of shutters, which are made-to-measure exactly for the space, matching the curves and angles exactly, without the challenges presented by curtain rails.

Portholes, arches and gable end windows can also be perfectly complemented with special shape shutters, and we offer a couple of track systems that can provide a solution for larger windows and patio doors.

About Kelvinside

Named after its proximity to the banks of the River Kelvin, Kelvinside is an area to the North of Glasgow that is largely affluent, with a good number of Victorian villas and terraces.

Before the lines were replaced and moved Kelvinside had a Railway Station that was one of the last stops before the centre of the city coming from the North. Great Western Road was built on the route of the old rail line, with the station being closed in the 1940s. The building is now home to a restaurant called 1051 GWR, and there are remnants of the old platforms still beneath the restaurant.

Kelvinside is home to Kelvinside Academy, a private school situated on the corner of Kirklee Road and Bellshaugh Road. The independent educational facility was founded in 1878 and caters for around 600 children across the different year groups, between ages 3 and 18.

One of the famous people to come from Kelvinside is the controversial historian Norman Stone. Born to a local schoolteacher and an RAF pilot, Stone attended the independent Glasgow Academy with a scholarship. As well as being a professor at the University of Oxford, a lecturer at Cambridge, and an advisor to Margaret Thatcher, Stone helped establish the History Curriculum association.
