Discover stylish internal shutters in High Harrogate

Solid wood panel shutters are desirable for owners of period properties, such as Georgian townhouses and smaller cottages found in the area. As internal shutters come in an array of material options, such as waterproof ABS, polypropylene coated MDF as well as classic hardwood, there is a great range to choose from to suit your home décor.

Bay windows are perfectly suited to window shutters. Rather than fitting curved curtain rails, which are often prone to falling and failing, shutters follow the angles and curves of the home, leaving space for a window seat or table. As they are made-to-measure, bays provide an ideal counterpoint for shutters, whether they have 3 sided, 5 sided, 7 or even 9 sided sections.

We work with you to bring new life into your space and rely on our experience to advise on the best options for the project.

As there is such a broad range of options available, we provide free quotes and advice on our shutters for properties of all types. If you’d like to create a stylish new look for your home, simply pick up the phone and call your local Shuttercraft today.

About High Harrogate

Tied into the history of the wider town of Harrogate itself, High Harrogate is one of the first settlements in the area that gradually developed with other smaller hamlets into one singular conurbation.

In 1571, the first mineral spring was found in Harrogate by William Slingsby, who discovered water from the Tewit Well in High Harrogate had similar properties to that from the Belgian town of Spa that lent its name to the growing number of spa towns found across Europe. During the Victorian era, at the height of Harrogate’s spa town popularity, a stone structure was erected about the Tewit Well in the Stray park. The structure was moved from the nearby Royal Pump Room in the centre of the town.

Following the Enclosure Act of 1770, development near High Harrogate served to link the area with neighbouring Low Harrogate, forming the basis of the town as it stands today. Despite linking up to form a larger town, it wasn’t until 1884 that High Harrogate came under one jurisdiction. The Municipal Borough of Harrogate was formed, taking High Harrogate from the civil parish of Bilton.

The diversity of window shapes and sizes in the Harrogate area has led to an increasing interest in window shutters among residents. Book a free home appointment with your local Shuttercraft and discover the options that could breathe new life into your Harrogate home.
