About Tunstall
Before the industrial revolution, Tunstall was a linear village. Rapid expansion followed as the area became important in the pottery and coal industries. Together with Burslem, Longton, Fenton, Hanley and Stoke-upon-Trent, it became part of the city of Stoke-on-Trent in 1925.
Frequently described as the most picturesque of the potteries towns, it is built around the market square, and today it has all of the facilities and retail outlets you would expect for a prosperous town.
Victoria Park, on the edge of Tunstall, is a beautiful place, with its Floral Hall a popular venue for weddings. It is an important part of the life of Tunstall, with its skate park, abundant waterfowl, nature trail, and sports facilities which include pitches where the young Robbie Williams used to play. It features on his 40th Birthday Celebration trail, and a plaque has been erected.
Separated from the hubbub of the major commercial centres further South, it has excellent transport links and many nearby attractions, including country parks and industrial museums.
