About Admaston
Located on the North West edge of Telford, and in particular Wellington, the village of Admaston is now technically included as a suburb of the larger town, but still retains much of its rural charm and individuality.
Considering its position as a quintessential English countryside village, Admaston doesn’t actually have its own C of E parish church. The village has its own Methodist Church, and Hope Community Church, an expression of New Frontiers faith, but the nearest Anglican congregation is based at St Peter’s in nearby Wrockwardine. St Christopher’s Trust is a local Christian charity formed in 1951 to support existing evangelical activities nearby.
Part of the Silkin Way runs through the outskirts of the village, a lengthy walking route that covers dry canal beds and disused railway lines. The B4394 also runs through Admaston, and a brook that feeds local lakes and ponds also winds through the landscape nearby.
Professional Grand Prix motorcyclist Bill Doran, who competed in the early 1950s before opening his own business in Wellington, lived in Admaston until his death from a heart attack in 1973.
