Discover premium interior shutters in Verwood

One of the easiest window coverings to keep maintained and clean, shutters are a great way of controlling the light, providing additional privacy for the home.

If you are considering a rethink for your interiors and want better control over the light coming into your home, why not call Shuttercraft and get in touch today. Rather than have a salesperson tell you what they think you should have, we’ll work with you to help discover the best styles to suit your tastes and requirements.

Plantation-style window shutters are a modish way to finish off your home design ideas and can also be used instead of room dividers or as bespoke wardrobe doors, giving a good amount of ventilation. As your local shutter experts on the South Coast, we can help you make informed decisions about finding the products, whether from the finest solid wood, water-resistant ABS or the ever-popular robust MDF.

When closed, shutters help insulate your home, helping keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer and have been said to help reduce external noise levels as well.

We happily fit and supply products throughout Verwood itself and surrounding areas of Dorset, working with our customers to make sure everyone is satisfied with both product and service.

About Verwood

Located just west of the New Forest boundary, the town of Verwood was once known as ‘Beau Bois’, a French term meaning beautiful wood, in reference to the stunning naturally occurring woodland in the area. Due to the abundance of firewood, water from nearby rivers, and easily accessible clay from along the south coast, Verwood became a centre of pottery crafting, exporting the potters’ wares across the globe, including as far as Newfoundland.

Home of solo musician Gordon Haskell, an acolyte of the prog band King Crimson, and known for his 2001 success “Harry’s Bar”, Verwood was also associated with Buster Merryfield, the London-born actor best known for his portrayal of Uncle Albert in the long-running sitcom ‘Only Fools and Horses’. Living in the area in his later years, both Merryfield and his wife are now buried in the town’s cemetery.

The local community radio station (Forest FM), has been broadcast from Verwood for a number of years and has a small claim to fame in that it boasts Europe’s longest-running radio show themed around the Beatles (BeatlesAndBeyond) that is still featured on the channel’s schedules.

Verwood is unique in Dorset in that it is the largest town in the county without its own secondary school. Although Emmanuel CofE Middle School provides some secondary education, children of key GCSE years still need to commute outside of the town for their education. Although provision has been made by Dorset County Council for the building of a new Secondary School for the town’s residents, it has not yet been started.

Whether you own stylish semi-detached, classic townhouse or a sleek modern apartment, there are shutters to suit your tastes. Book a free survey today to discover more.
