Discover stylish internal shutters in Linthouse

Made-to-measure for every customer, you can be confident that new shutters from Shuttercraft will be crafted to match your design choices and requirements, with a range of optional extras making them a versatile choice for modern living.

Providing a strong sense of aesthetics for homes and businesses alike, custom crafted wooden shutters give both light control and privacy, also adding insulation when closed. We offer a number of beautiful woodstain finishes alongside our popular paint options, providing options whatever your sense of style.

Specialist window treatments give a degree of thermal insulation, helping keep your home warmer during cooler winter months. Particularly when coupled with an integrated blind as part of our Shutter & Shade product, the insulating properties reduce heat loss through your windows when the louvres are closed, making your interiors more energy efficient in the process.

Whether you choose shutters crafted from hardwood, MDF, waterproof ABS, or a combination of these, you are guaranteed with a perfect finish that we know you’ll love for years to come. No matter whether you have bay windows, sash windows, or are looking to cover a large expanse of glass such as a patio door, we help you realise your vision.

We provide the right solution for your home, based on your design choices, creating not only that internal ‘wow’ factor but also instant kerb appeal from the outside too! Book a free home appointment to discover the ideal choice to compliment your interiors.

About Linthouse

Part of the larger Govan area in the southern side of Glasgow, the neighbourhood of Linthouse is home to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, a grand training hospital that opened in 2015 that has space for nearly 2,000 patients at any given time. At the time it was built, it cost nearly £1bn, and was constructed on the site of the former Southern General Hospital, the Victorian era structure that was outgrown with the rapid expansion of the city.

For just 19 years at the end of the 19th century, Linthouse had its own football club which played in a navy blue kit. The short lived team did not achieve any sort of success in the Scottish leagues, although were often winners when it came to the local Govan & Ibrox Cup.

Another relic of the Victorian era in Linthouse is the Elder Park. On the riverside, the beautiful Govan green space contains a public library, playgrounds and a network of paths, as well as a statue of Isabella Elder, the local philanthropist who donated the land to the city and helped fund the education of a number of Glaswegian women.

Perfectly located on the banks of the River Clyde, Linthouse was home to the famous shipbuilder Alexander Stephen and Sons Ltd who built a number of destroyers and cruisers for the Royal Navy throughout the 20th Century. With their offices placed next to the Clyde Tunnel, work was often carried out in the large dock just off Govan Road, a site now owned and run by BAE Systems.
