About Brentwood
Due to its location, just off of junction 28 of the M25, and only 20 miles from central London, Brentwood has long been considered a key commuter town for people that work in the city. It is also the 8th biggest settlement in Essex, with companies such as Amstrad, Ford, Thermos, LV and Equity Insurance once providing many jobs for residents.
Despite its urban/suburban setting, Brentwood is surrounded by large swathes of woodland and countryside, much of which is protected land as an attempt to slow down the effects of industrialisation in the capital. Over 500 acres of Weald Country Park, located just west of Brentwood, is a vast green space once based around Weald Hall, the local manor house, and was originally the site of an Iron Age hillfort.
