About All Saints
Located to the southeast of the City of Wolverhampton, the area of All Saints is based around the A41 Bilston Road and the canal. The Birmingham and Wolverhampton Canal is a 14-mile stretch of water that was built around existing waterways during the height of industrialisation in the West Midlands.
The Bilston Road Retail Park is based in the All Saints area and features well-known stores such as Smyths Toys, Bensons for Beds, B&M and Dunelm. Located just the other side of Eagle Street is the Mitre Retail Park, although, by and large, the two are interconnected.
All Saints is an inner city residential area full of late Victorian and early 20th-century terraced houses. The gothic-inspired All Saints Church, part of the Parish of Central Wolverhampton, is still open for Christian worship, as well as acting as a community hub for local groups and charities. It was built and expanded in the latter half of the 19th century, but changes in the area have led the church to find alternative uses for its ample space.
The All Saints Action Network is a community group that has been operating for the local area since 1997, working to improve the area for those that live and work in central Wolverhampton.
