Discover plantation shutters in Keighley

Keighley residents and business owners are benefitting from choosing internal shutters for their properties, suiting both contemporary and traditional buildings alike.

There is a range of more modern properties in the town centre, and a variety of older townhouses can be found throughout Keighley. Terraced houses are also common, with many residents choosing Shuttercraft café style wooden shutters for their window treatments, providing privacy, without hampering natural light levels coming into the property.

Businesses in Victorian properties are found to benefit more from installing tier-on-tier and full height shutters, while modern homeowners tend to opt for our track and special-shaped interior shutters. Each of our waterproof ABS coated MDF and solid wood shutters are built to custom specifications, made to match your space.

About Keighley

Found in the City of Bradford borough, Keighley is located just south of where the rivers Aire and Worth join in the county of West Yorkshire. A charter to hold a market in the town was first granted by King Edward I in 1305 to the Lancashire knight Henry de Keighley. The Market Hall continues to this day to be a centre of retail in the area, being more recently updated into a more contemporary mall setting, located next to the Airedale Shopping Centre.

As with many towns and cities in the region, Keighley’s main industry was centred around textiles, particularly in the areas of wool and cotton processing, which continues to this day. The town is also noteworthy for entering into the first recorded town twinning agreement in 1920 with the Poix-du-Nord commune in the North of France.

Famous residents of Keighley have been Labour politician Alastair Campbell, actress Molly Sugden and Kaiser Chiefs singer and The Voice judge Ricky Wilson. The writers Anne, Charlotte and Emily Brontë also originated from the area, growing up in the village of Haworth, just two miles south of Keighley. Excellent shopping, restaurants and other facilities cater to most needs and tastes.
